The employee mobility industry is rooted in employer-initiated relocations –employers asking their employees to relocate for various business reasons and talent needs –but trends indicate a growing number of situations in which the employee, not the employer, broach the idea of a relocation.
A trend that started before the pandemic and continues now, employees are more often exploring options and seeking ways to fulfill their personal needs. This has led to employers addressing a unique-but-varied population’s needs, which have collectively come to be known as employee-initiated relocations.
